Could this be yours??

I have been going back through alllll of my document files and pictures I have saved to my laptop tonight over the past few years (yikes!) and I came across these two pictures of writer's workshop folders. I have no idea where I originally found these, but I really love the ideas. Did you create this fabulousness or do you know who did? I would love to find them again. THANKS!!

Growing Kinders!!

Growing Kinders is a super cute blog I follow and she has posted some really great sight word activities and freebies. All of the comments from other teachers are great too! You should check it out.

Her post got me thinking about one thing I have done to help with letters, sounds, and sight words. Last year I had a chica tree on my front door and as I introduced the two lettrs of the week, I would put them on the door. I would say "chica chica boom boom, what's the password to our room?" Then, I would point to a letter and the student would have to say the letter and sound to get into the classroom. You could do this with sight words after you get through the alphabet. The kids loved it!! :) Go check out Growing Kinders for more ideas you will love.

It's a JUNGLE out there!

I am very excited that my team will be doing a jungle/safari theme next year! So, I have created our back to school theme packet. It is 31 pages and I have posted it on TeachersPayTeachers.com to sell for $4.00. It includes printable cubby name signs, center signs, nametags, desk nameplates, job poster, bulletin board headers, etc. Please let me know what you think and rate it on TPT if you purchase it. THANKS!! Here's a sneak peak!!
Jungle Preview
I plan to list the following themes soon so keep a look out:
pirates, ocean, chefs/food, western, space, frogs.
Let me know if I have left out your theme and if you would like me to create a packet for you! THANKS!!

Also, pretty pretty please leave me a comment and left me know if I have left out anything or if you would like something to be added to the theme packets that will help you. Ex. Do you need folder covers, hall passes? :)

SPLASH! Frog Street Press! Are you going?

Just curious...I really, really, REALLY want to go to Frog Street Press' SPLASH convention in Dallas this July! There are so many AMAZING presenters! I wanted to go last year but couldn't afford it. Again, this year I am dying to go. Here are my hold-ups:
1.PRICE!!!!
2. I would be going solo and even though I consider myself a social person, I hate the idea of going by myself, not knowing anyone.
3. I don't really know anyone who has ever gone, so I am just assuming that it is the most Fantabulous thing ever, but it is really?

So, have you gone? Are you going? Can you fit me in your suitcase? Haha! Want to plan a summer blog party and meet up at Splash?!!!

OMG!! I smell a GIVEAWAY!!

Oh my goodness! Last Friday, June 2nd was my last day of school, whoo hoo! As soon as I got home, the family loaded my car (with everything in our house I think)and we hit the road for a last minute vacation. My husband decided three weeks ago that we needed to plan (aka, ME plan) a little vaca for our family. Well, I don't think I slept the last week of school. I was like a puppy chasing my tail. So, for the first time every, I told my kids to pack us! EEK!! My daughter, who is 14, led this undertaking along with list after list that I left. My daughter asked me the day before we left what our vaca plans were and I said, "well, we don't have plans, it's whatever we want to do." Grace did a major GASP because that is so not my style but really, my super mom cape was worn and missing some letters last week. Anywho, we survived a great week at this lake house we rented on Lake Travis, which is in Austin, TX. Our clothing selections were quite comical but who cares when you have access to a private beach. I brought my laptop but only got on it once...it was my promise to my family that they would have 8 days of my full attention. We got home today and look out...I HAVE OVER 200 FOLLOWERS!! WHOO HOO!!! So, to celebrate that, I am going to give away FIVE birthday packets that I haven't listed to sell yet on TPT. I will also give each winner one thing from my TPT store of their choice. Here is the Birthday Set:
Birthday Set
You can print out stickers, birthday coupons, covers for a birthday book, and the birthday song. I thought this would be good for all grade levels. So, all you gotta do is:
1. Follow my blog & post the giveaway on your blog if you have one!
2. Follow me on Teachers Pay Teachers!
3. Leave me a comment (include what your theme is for next year if you know...yes, I am nosey!) with your email address!
4. Promise to take at least one nap during the next week because I heart you and we all could use a mental health day or at least a nap!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I am in ahhh how much this blog has blessed me and how much I am learning from each of YOU!!

Giveway ends on Monday, June 13th at midnight. :)

P.S. To all of you fabulous bloggeristas that are doing the Math Centers book study, I am LOVING reading your blogs!Keep up the great posts!!!
